Family Affair

Family Affair

Photo by my friend Theresa Young.

Some photos of us that my friend Theresa took. Even though French Husband's smile is odd, and his hair strange, and my nose… well I won't say.

I can see our natural spirit.

I am among tall people.

I am short.

I have always been short.

A house amongst skyscrapers.

Chelsea, Corey, Yann and Mr. Espresso.

I love Mr. Espresso's beard, he has had it since Chelsea met him seven years ago.

Happy Monday.

Which means my Monday Night Dinner at my Mom's, and my nieces will send snaps to me, and Chelsea has theatre class, and Sacha is still in Seattle loving it.

What is Monday to you?

  1. I love your pictures, Corey. I much prefer natural spirit to the perfectly posed snap. Of course, that usually means I have my mouth wide open with laughter…but oh well!
My son lives in Seattle, too. It is an exciting city, though dangerous to live as a die hard 49er fan (-:
This Monday has been a decluttering exercise. Almost done with a big, under the stairs closet. We found some treasures, we are donating bags and bags, and there was plenty of trash, too. Now to not bring in a whole new load to fill up the clean spaces, that’s my challenge.

  2. Great pictures Corey. When FH is done with his “strange” hair, you can mail it to me, ’cause I’d love to have that much hair, lol.

  3. What lovely family photos, a very attractive bunch!
My Monday was yesterday, it’s now Tuesday morning 11 AM. I’m home now for 3 days until I return to work…3 on, 3 off works for me.

  4. Lovely photos full of warmth! So fun for Sacha to be in my hometown! Up until today the weather was so lovely for him. Today, it’s a little gray, a trifle wet, but still warm. I hope he is having a very good time!

  5. Well, this Monday it means a little pain. I tripped Sat. and fell and hurt my ankle. I thought of you and your painful ordeal. But, needed to go to my new job today, so I pushed through. Sitting here with my feet up reading my fav blog. Love the candids. You guys are all so cute and very real. Love is everywhere in the pics.

  6. Family traditions of Monday night dinners are to be treasured. Each photo is special.
Monday for me was going for an hour walk instead of visiting the gym, hiring someone to come and clean my house once in the while, baking a fig cake from freshly picked figs, and now off to an evening meeting to plan a retreat. Thanks for all you share, you make me smile.

  7. You’re gorgeous! Inside and out!

  8. LOVELY photos of you all. I always enjoy checking up on your blog…but now I will leave a comment. I LMAO about the WEENIS post and had to share about it with friends. I am from California and thought about you when I drove through you home town last week. I have actually met a relative of yours at The Trove in Roseville, Ca. It was last year and I forgot her name. But anywho, just thought I’d introduce myself….

You all look so nice. And happy. I approve of Mr. Espresso and his beard for Chelsea.
How cute and funny you tell a story, Corey.

  10. Now all I can do is look at your nose. Sort of like when you say a word over and over again and it starts sounding weird? Now I am looking at your nose and wondering why we have noses at all…don’t they all look weird? why are they there? Nose. nose nose nosenosenose Now I’ll be thinking about noses all day.
xoxoxoxoxo love your nose, and your glasses and your family, and these wonderful photos
(but…nose. nose. of course I have done an opera about a nose….I kid you not. Look it up. By Shostokovich. of course it was absurd But I had to say the word “NOS” ….in russian of course…..about a million times. )

  11. This Monday I am meeting friends to go over last minute items for our 50th high school reunion this weekend!!! On another note, my husband grew a beard shortly after I met him. When our children were 5 and 7 he shaved it off and they thought he was his brother. “Uncle Roddy is here!”😊

Monday starts out, seeing how your family is. Thinking of God. Being Thankful..
    I love Monday mornings.
    Thanks for sharing Corey!

  13. Love the photos. I remember in fifth grade, not wanting the boy I secretly liked to sit next to me in class because of my profile. My nose was too big, I thought. I would think it sad to learn that one of my granddaughters was so concerned at that age. That discomfort over my nose is still there, but other people look puzzled when I mention my “strong” nose. Let’s agree together to get over it!

  14. I feel your shortness pangs. I am 6 inches shorter than my daughter and about a foot shorter than my sons and husband. At least I can use them to reach things for me. Glad you get to enjoy the photos of the family. Yours are terrific. I’m a beard person. Chelsea must be too because she’s definitely devoted to Mr. Espresso.

  15. Belle famille!

  16. How nice to see you in the pictures Corey!
When will you be publishing a book? You are quite the storyteller!!!

The reason photos don’t capture you so well is that Corey is best represented in MOTION: in a video I suppose, or best of all in person. You have such vivacity and verve and love-of-fun-ish-ness that can never be captured in a still photo. Just sayin’. Who cares about your nose or your height. It’s YOU, darlin’, that’s so delightful.

  18. Sweet, sweet photos.
Lived in the Seattle area most of my adult life. Loved it.
