Cousins in My Town

Cousins in My Town

My cousins Sara and Kerri and their daughters Jennifer and Elizabeth are visiting. It is so odd to see familiar faces, family from back home in my French town. A rare treat! A connection that makes living so far away feel less far. I suppose more than anything I feel my past, I feel my childhood, I feel love…. a connection that lessens the gap. Also it makes me homesick.

We went to the market today.

Soap

spices

scarves

shoes

and

a "sac" (which is a "purse" in French but since everything started with a

"S"

I thought I would say sac instead of purse.

My cousins and their friends.

They are renting an amazing house up the road, and the house feels like out of the book "Enchanted April"

We were having lunch at the market when my friends Denise and Vlad came by. It was such a lovely moment to introduce my two worlds, my family to my friends, my friends to my family… France to California… and just before I said, "This is Denise…"

My cousins cracked up laughing, "The Panty Lady!!!"

  4. Oh that is too funny! The Panty Lady!
Love Enchanted April and was hoping you were showing where they were staying. Your photos of them in the arch are wonderful.

  5. It is great fun to see how the two worlds appreciate each other. So good for all of us.

  7. Have a wonderful time with your family! I just flew out to Ohio to visit my sister, Susan, for several days. Her children and grandchildren live 10 minutes from her so I was able to spend time with all of my family that I don’t see very often. I am a bit homesick now, and I’m not even from Ohio!

  8. How wonderful to have family visiting.
