St Moret Fromage Cheese in France

New twist to St. Moret, a classic French cheese.

When you open the package it looks like this. "Too pretty to eat!" Is what Ruth our friend said today at lunch.

I thought it looked like a dessert.

I get a kick out of going to the grocery store, finding a new product, or new to me that is, coming home, trying it, falling in love and then thinking to myself, "What else is hiding in the grocery store waiting for me to discover it?" It is like playing hide-n-seek.

Simple joys.

What is one of yours?

  1. I love good vanilla ice cream, creamy and smooth.

  2. Poor Yann, having to put up with us photographing our food…. My brain was buzzing with ideas on the drive home! Thanks for a wonderful wonderful day! GROS BISOUS ruth xxx

  3. St. Marcellin cheese. The first time I bought it, it was because of the little dish it was sold in. Times #2 through 12 and counting…it is because of the cheese.

  4. That totally looks like a dessert…like a mini cheese cake. I bet it’s wonderful.

  5. That cheese would be mine too.
Awhile back I did a study on the best macaron in my city of Portland. Now that was fun, but the best isn’t in a part of town I travel often. I have to make an special trip occasionally just to get macarons.

  6. I have gotten lost in French supermarkets; truly a place of discovery & joy!

  7. My father was also a strong believer in high quality vanilla ice cream because, as he liked to point out, there was no way to conceal any deficiency by means of flavorings, colorings or add-ins. One of his favorites was a one-off parlor run by the Bott family. Alas, after the owner died the place was sold, and eventually closed.

  8. Divine. Do u ever use fresh chestnuts? I’ve tried the little x in the bottom, but they r hard to open. They r yummy though.

  9. I was in the Dordogne earlier this month. After I picked up my rental car at the Bergerac airport I headed for the InterMarche, to pick up a few goodies. I always feel a bit sad though, considering all of the fabulous items there that we can’t get here in the US.

  10. Corey, I still remember that scrumptious chestnut yogurt from your local grocery store. In the Azores they have passion-fruit (maracujá) yogurt, which is also delicious.
