Growing a Beard for Prostate Cancer Awareness?

Growing a Beard for Awareness?

Sacha shared his long beard growth for prostate cancer awareness month.

He sent me a snap. At first I didn't know what was going on or why he was growing his beard so long… all I could think of was, "Why?" But was i was clued in I was the proud mama and had to share his furry face.

Then he shaved.

White face scare!

He sent me this snap, Freak he called it.

I think the "Must-Dash" went the next day.

Sacha reminds me of Rhett Butler, well in some moustache or eyebrow kind of way.

I prefer the half beard, a five o'clock shadow, whatever they call it now.

What do you prefer on a man?

a) Full beard,

b) Moustache,

c) Five o'clock shadow

  1. I do not like full beards on men. Why did the “I am a Lumberjack” song by Monty Python pop into my brain seeing the first photo of Sacha? 🙂

Beards are wildly popular with Brooklyn Hipsters wearing plaid. I must admit they look pretty rugged, until they pull out their knitting….
I am glad that Sasha was “loosing” the beard….losing it to let his handsome face loose on an unsuspecting public…. 😉

  3. My first preference is a clean shaven face- fresh clean neat second choice the 5 o’clock shadow-but it hurts my face if I am up close and personal – your boy is so handsome like his papa-so handsome!

  4. Beards, yuk, am always afraid that lunch has dropped in there. Moustache, yuk too, and it’s often hiding something. Five o’clock shadow – delicious, hides nothing and suggests a hurried morning 😉

Rebecca in NYC, that is SO funny about “until they pull out their knitting.” ha!

My man has a full lush beard, formerly brown, now silvery white, so of course I’m biased toward that look especially on him. For a joke on someone he shaved it off around our first anniversary. “Now grow it back!” I demanded. He’s not shaved again for 31 years.
(I’m old-school perhaps about other man-faces: just not a fan of the never-quite-shaved-well-enough look. It’s been in style for years and I keep hoping it’ll fade away some day. Sorry Corey!)

  7. I like clean shaven. Always have. Bless Sacha for thinking of others & prostate awareness. You two haven given your two children a really good start in life.

  8. five o’clock shadow or clean, please!

  9. I am a sucker for a five o’clock shadow.

  10. Clean-shaven, s’il vous plaît! Farmboy Husband has such a beautiful face, I don’t want it hidden. Nor do I want it scratching me. (My Azorean-American father had to shave twice a day, his beard was so dark and heavy!).

  11. Don’t like full beards or moustaches but do like a bit of rough…although too much can have a sand paper effect; saves on having to exfoliate!!

  12. Thank you, Sacha, for participating in the prostate cancer awareness campaign. My father passed away from that disease so the awareness campaign is near to my heart. My vote: clean shaven 🙂

  13. I prefer clean shaven men. Something about being a gentleman and well cared for. Plus, that is the way my husband is! Lately my son has grown various facial hair. I prefer him clean shaven, too!

  14. Clean shaven, with the occasional 5 o’clock shadow. My husband likes to stop shaving on the weekend — boy it hurts!
I thought it was Movember — Moustaches for protate cancer awareness? I must have missed something about the full beard; maybe that is particular to the U.S.? (or France?) Here are the Movember rules, and they explicitly state No Beards, No Goatees:
