  1. Happy one hundred and ten years ago to you too.

  2. Swallows, the bringers of good luck, what better symbol to lead into the New Year?
My piano was built in the year 1905, as was the place where I live. Must have been a very good year in many aspects.

  3. Rebecca from the pacific northwest

Here’s a slightly bad taste and/or amusing tidbit for you. My friend Peggy in Houston is a half-generation older than I, and her kids a half-generation younger. Peggy’s a real corker; I like her and her sense of humor a lot.
She’s not a big one on fancy frilly stuff but her oldest daughter is. One birthday, her daughter gave her the fanciest, frilliest birthday card with flowers and bluebirds and ribbons flowing and whatnot on the front. Inside it said “I’m giving this to you because I know you love bluebirds and flowers and all that shit.”
Hit the nail right on the head. In the case of this card, it’s swallows and flowers and…
(And now I hope the buyer of this card doesn’t see this and get put off! It’s really a lovely card!)
