A Thank You Note from Jean Luc

To All my New Friends on the Other Side of the Ocean,

Following the dramatic motorcycle accident I had in December 2014, I received through Corey Amaro's Blog your kind letters and comments.

So many people who may never meet me in person having thoughts for me, I am deeply moved by your attention and do appreciate it a lot.

I want to thank you so much for all your warm and supportive messages.

…

To give you news about my health: despite their efforts to keep my foot alive, unfortunately the surgeons had no other option than to amputate it.

After one difficult month in the hospital, I spent one month at home recovering day after day my appetite came back, thanks to the good food cooked by my wife, and sleeping in my own bed.

Now that my leg is healed well, I start this week to go daily to an orthopaedic and functional rehabilitation center.

I will need to be patient as I was told it will take around 3 months to be able to walk with a prosthesis and probably a few more to be able to practice my favorite sports like biking, maybe sailboarding if I am lucky.

Thanks again for all your letters,
