Unravelling…

Tangledthreads

The name on the green tag, holding purple thread said, "A l'Oranger." (Which means: At the orange tree.) Instead of embroidering oranges, she created a plum tree..

"What are you good at? What do you enjoy doing? That is the thread to untangle." I remember those words from a high school teacher, she went on to say,

"We can be good at something, yet not enjoy doing it. On the other hand, we can enjoy doing something that we are not very good at.

The thread to untangle, is the one that will tie a bow around your mind and heart.

What do you enjoy doing and that you are good at?

  7. another post that gave me pause… so I read the other comments thus far-I wanna say I really do not know what I am good at-I guess I am really good with children-although none of my own- and am very okay with that-what I enjoy is learning – the dynamics of a classroom- not just academic study, although I do enjoy that aspect too- but the interaction between learner teacher and student to student – I did go back to school for my masters in education child development and special education-having studied business and marketing first- sometimes I think I lack self definition I was just discussing this with my sister-I need to give this a good think…..

    Me, too!

  10. BEST RESPONSE EVER!!! A gift rarer than gems-

  11. At last I can say that I, too, am good at being me. Took many years, but just being me is a good thing whether writing poetry, watching birds, listening to grandchildren, working with textiles…me is a happy place to be every day.

  12. Once untangled, the journey begins. Inevitably, we encounter the crossroad of fear and self-doubt – new yarns to unravel.
I find the hardest part of the untangle is not in knowing what, it is in knowing how. How to fit it in between the needs of those I love and care for. Maybe that’s what our 50’s is all about?

  13. I actually love every moment of my life – mostly…
I learned to be good to myself, now I can be truly good for others. I’m a very good listener and a good friend.
I love cooking, reading, photographing, writing, gardening, walk & chat & be quiet & enjoy what’s around me and who I am with, even my own thoughts – life is (mostly) beautiful after many, many years of hidden sadness and grief.

I laughed when I saw this as I immediately wanted to unravel that skein. I’ve been very good at working out knots in chains and thread. I just stay loose, calm and patient.

  15. I am good at creating new cake recipes they don’t always turn out right the first time but I do love to bake. I love creating cloth dolls but do less of them now.
I am good at my job but I am not happy doing it anymore.
I love my children and my grandson but would really like to love myself.
