  1. Sending a hug!

  2. Last week was the 30th anniversary of my father’s passing. I couldn’t figure out why I felt so sad, then realized the date. No one is as good a cheerleader, nor has as much influence on a female (no matter what her age) as an excellent father. Sending hugs to you. Mr. Amaro was an amazing man and excellent father.

  3. Is it your dad’s birthday? It’s my dad’s birthday too!!!

  4. Joining you as you celebrate the life of this special man.

  5. Love when you talk about your dad, Corey.
    What a great picture.

    Sweet memories.

  7. Hello Corey,
So nice to see your dad and how honoring you are to him. I lost mine when I was 20 and 41 years later, I still miss him intensely.
Take care and be gentle with yourself.

  8. I am a day late, but love your love for your Dad. xxoo jody fl ky

  9. As I’ve been reading through from the beginning of your blog, I have gotten to August 2008 so far. I realized as I read, that your dad and mine died within weeks of each other. Reading your love for your mother and father touches me as a reminder of the love I had/have for my own parents. Our fathers share characteristics, so common in that generation of men—hardworking, devoted, strength in spirit and strength of character. Thank you for sharing and remembering so that I am reminded, too.

What a guy! I’m so happy we had our happy walking times and I could hear about him in detail. So glad for that and so much more.
    Love and hugs, Maggie

  11. Just back from celebrating what would have been my dad’s 84th birthday had he not died in late 2009. Lunch out with the extended fam. So lucky to have had a dad like I did. You too. Liz x

  12. Love you Corey. You are a good and loving daughter.
