Ireland Our Last Day

The Luck of the Irish

Around the corner from our friend Carrie's house a souvenir from the past stands reminding us to enjoy the moment at hand and guard our memories well. I met Carrie through blogging about four years ago.

Windy but blue.

My faithful yellow wool coat has served me well, and Yann's leather-weighs-a-ton-flight-jacket that is like his second skin.

Jane and I. Jane is Carrie's friend since childhood. We were three peas in a pod, well actually four counting Yann.

Jane and Carrie. Carrie cannot stand having her photo taken, hence I do not have a single photo of the two of us. Silly, how we are about not liking our photo taken. Because at the end of the day we did not have a photo of the two of us. I have to come back to Ireland to render that problem. Oh wait, it is Carrie's turn to come to my home.

The Luck of the Irish

"May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand."

An Irish Prayer.

Thank you Carrie for sharing your Ireland with us.

You look so pretty in the pictures! I love your yellow wool coat. Seeing Ireland through your photos was something I looked forward to each day. Many of my family came from Ireland three and four generations back, but I have never been there. Thank you for taking me along!

  9. “And may you be in heaven half an hour
before the devil knows your dead”.😀

  11. Corey, these are beautiful pictures of you! Your hair is so pretty! You need to take more!

  12. Carrie, how I empathize with you re getting one’s picture taken! One advantage of having lots of them snapped is that there are more from which to choose, and a better chance of finding a picture one really likes 🙂 I think the photo of you and Jane is lovely!

I must agree with everyone regarding photos of you. Corey you are a beautiful woman and I am so glad you are now posting more photos of yourself with family and friends. I too struggle with self imposed criticism of my appearance especially in still in photos. But, I am who I am in part because of my years of age. I know I don’t want to go back in time, so moving forward with some wrinkles and a sagging neckline and a young attitude has to suffice. One final note, sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. Don’t leave home without it.
