A New Twist to Beauty

A New Twist to Beauty

Beauty.

When you have been with someone most of your life, or even if you have been with someone for two seconds but feel like you have known them your entire life, either way whenever there is a trust, a comfortableness, a giving, a receiving that makes you feel understood, accepted, cherished to be who you are, the freedom is life giving, it is an undeniable gift.

 A New Twist to Beauty

This afternoon on the train from Paris back to our home, that man of mine the one with few words ever spoken, leaned in touched my face, then touched it again, then poked it, then looked back and said:

"You have a new wrinkle," then pointed, "Right here on you nose."

Lucky me,

Oh lucky me to have someone who loves me enough to point out the  new wrinkle on my nose.

  1. He must be really “taken” with his lovely wife to have actually noticed a “new” wrinkle!

If it’s only one, consider yourself lucky lol. Mine seem to be popping up like weeds.

When I look at myself in a mirror, I see my father as he aged. However, I remember not long ago when my husband told me that when he looked at me, he still saw the girl I was when we first were married. That’s an advantage to being married for 45 years! No one else sees me like that.

  4. What a lovely photo of you!!!–S/E

  5. Now that is one way of thinking on this. Smiling!

  6. That’s how I feel about Farmboy Husband after all these decades — he’s still the student I met!

  7. I’m just glad I’ve lived long enough to grow wrinkles 🙂

  8. WR with sagging jowls

You’re looking pretty fine to me darling.
I am not faring as well, I think, as I’ve noticed that my jowls are sagging at least half a centimeter more than last year at this time.

  9. The two of you have such a healthy relationship. 😀 how wonderful to know someone so intimately that a small item like a wrinkle is noticed.

I am thankful my husband’s eyesight is such that all my new wrinkles are a blur! lol!

  11. Hysterical! Made me laugh out loud. My Dad seems to think he must announce to me (or my sister or my mother) that i have gained a little weight. Is there a woman in the world who doesn’t know when she has gained a bit? Do we need anyone to point this out to us? At least a new little wrinkle may go unnoticed. That Yann, ever the thoughtful one :).

  12. Beautiful. That’s deep love.

I couldn’t agree more, Kathie. And Corey, on the eve of my 40th wedding anniversary, thank you for this:
    “Beauty.
“When you have been with someone most of
your life, or even if you have been with
someone for two seconds but feel like you
have known them your entire life, either
way whenever there is a trust, a
    comfortableness, a giving, a receiving
that makes you feel understood, accepted,
cherished to be who you are, the freedom
is life giving, it is an undeniable gift.”
That, with a dose of the enduring passion enabled and nurtured by what it describes, captures true love so perfectly.

  15. Tongue in Cheek

  16. Tongue in Cheek

  17. Brenda, Walker, LA

That is so sweet! He is total in love with you forever!

  18. The fact that he notices every new wrinkle means that he has spent a lifetime memorizing and loving your face. That is love!
