The Accidental Artist

Artists interviews

Heidi Easely asked me to participate in the Accidental Artist Interview. Each day for nearly a month, Heidi will share an artist's  thoughts and ideas about how art has changed their lives. The video interviews took place with SKYPE and are posted online at:

www.theaccidentalartistonline.com

If you would like to hear and see the videos you need to go to the link above and sign up. My interview will be posted in a few days or so.

Tell me how are you an artist? How do you live a creative life? What inspires you? What color are you today?

Can you believe that someone like me who can hardly stand a photo taken of myself agreed to do a video? I hope you will sign up to watch them.

(Photos: Above left taken by my friend Merisi , the one on the right taken by my niece Maci (14 years old).

  1. Sounds like a fun event. I’ve signed up. I see that you post pix of your beautiful self more and more frequently. I’m happy about that. It’s nice to “see” you:)

  2. I need to express myself creatively in some way everyday; whether through dressing, buying a bouquet of flowers and arranging them or making a delicious meal. This past school year has been easier since I am teaching art once again – drawing & painting everyday! I have learned that if I am not creating or stimulated somehow visually, I am just not that chipper. Spring is a wonderful time as I marvel in the re-birth of all of nature. Blue & yellow are how I feel most days or the colors I gravitate to. Looking forward to your podcast!

  3. corey I think you are amazing -oh and brave too-color today right now firey red -I dropped a bottle of red wine and it broke-hopefully mood and frustration tinged with anger will pass-waiting for first stain treatment to dry– yikes and all the little messes it creates glass moving stuff make sure I got it all- splatter factor -went to computer just for break -light inspires me and so does the lack of it-I am not a creative type but boy oh boy do I appreciate those who are-

  5. Diogenes

    Of course I’ll watch. 🙂

  6. I’m a frustrated artist! I have great images in my head & lack the technique..boo! I’m always obsessed by the bygone eras in design, style, color..Lately I’m feeling & thinking about tropical, exotic, mysterious places of the 1940s..could be influenced by the Bogart movies (set in Martinique, Casablanca) I recently watched..again…I’m a classic movie buff…so assorted jungle-y greens, Caribbean Blues, deep fuschia bougainvillea..these colors are in my mind since the movies are all black & white.

    P.S.:
I have not answered your question about “being an artist because I find it too difficult to even begin to ponder it!

  9. What an honor.
I am an artist just be the very fact that if I am not doing something creative I get restless and unhappy. It use to be sewing, painting, and crafts. Now it is writing and photography that sing to my soul.

I will watch just to see you and hear your voice…miss you. You are such a beautiful artist in every way, your style, your home, your blog and your life shows it. Good luck my friend!
