Sunday Leftovers at the Brocante

Sunday Brocante

Sunday Brocante.

When I first arrive at a brocante the last thing I do is take photos. In the beginning I am too anxious to see what there is, then after I have taken it in, I say hello to the vendors I know, a few hours later I snap a few photos… the leftovers at the end of the brocante:

Sandstone Alsace Pottery

Gris pottery. Varied sizes. I see these often never bothering to pay much attention until the other day I saw them in a friend's home filled with various utensils and such on her kitchen counter. Granted her kitchen is grey, black and taupe. She filled most of them with old silver…

My friend Ruth bought these for less than a song for her new kitchen.

My friend's kitchen counter that made me take a second look at something I have rarely paid attention to. Dang that pottery looks stunning now, plus a hint of Asian to it as well.

Envy.

But not enough to change my kitchen colors?

Fat cat.

Weighed a ton.

Did you know there was a Saint Lea?

Still life painting and a baby blue dress. I thought Ruth's little daughter might like it, but Ruth rolled her eyes while she said,

"Oh Charlotte she would never dream of wearing anything but pink."

The blue/gray pottery would be a nice addition to your brocante shop. 🙂

You made me take a second look at that pottery, too, in a color that has never previously enticed me. I wouldn’t have to change the colors in my kitchen. I thought I was de-cluttering, and now I may have to re-clutter!

  3. Love the brocante tour!

Hi Corey, Will you send me another way to contact you other than email? Jordan wants to discuss the time to meet you in Paris.

That was fun! I liked the cherries-design of … wax stamp for fabric, perhaps? Do you know what it is? And the glasses, viewed like that. And the fat cat.
