Sacha Thank You

Sacha and annie

Sacha is taking the train to come to Annie's funeral today. Right after he will take the train back to Paris as he is doing his finals for university. Chelsea cannot come due to work.

Sacha asked me, "Do you have Annie's recipe, do you know how to make her stuffed grape vine leaves (dolmas)?" I reassured him I did.

It seems like you did a small video with Annie making the stuffed cabbage rolls, or was it the grape leaves?
Thinking of you today, so glad Sacha can be there with you and Yann

  7. Strange yet Amazing how one can get to know and feel for someone through someone else without ever meeting, hearing or talking to them. As time goes on, please keep Annie’s spirit alive by occasionally posting memories of her. Carry with you today, the support and love of all of us that were touched by your friend and the relationship you shared. You are not alone.

  8. That is a spectacular photograph. It is a photo of love and caring and the beauty of friendship and family (even when the people are not blood-related.) Thinking of you all day my friend…

How wonderful it was for Sacha to take time from preparing for his finals to come. How left out Chelsea must feel that she couldn’t come. What a tough time for all of you.

Evidence of how loving and thoughtful Sacha is to make the effort to attend Annie’s send off. I am sure Chelsea is with you in spirit to support you as they show their love and respect for Annie. I have come to know her and admire her through your stories. The Dolmas recipe/story is one of my favorites. My heartfelt prayers to you all. She will be missed but memories of her and love will endure.

  16. May Annie rest in peace.

  22. I have been off line for a few days. So sorry to hear about Annie. What a wonderful friendship you have had! I’m so glad you shared her with all of us. Your stories about her will live on and your beautiful photos will help you remember her when you are lonely and missing her. Sacha is his Mother’s son. He knows the importance of sharing her gifts. Teach him to make the the stuffed grape leaves the way she taught you.

  23. Agree with all of the above comments, and me too am/was accompanying you to the funeral with my prayers and thoughts.
You can’t choose family but you CAN choose friends. You a v.lucky (and kind) person to have wonderful family and friends – and Annie has become a friend of us all thanks to your thoughtful, loving and charming posts involving her.
Loved the ‘dolmas’ bit…. this will certainly cause a few extra tears and some lopsided smiles too!

Prayers for all of you as you celebrate Annie’s passing. Sacha, like you, will carry Annie in his heart forever, and every time he eats dolmas he will have her by his side. Thank you for sharing your beautiful friend and friendship with us all through your words and pictures…and recipes.
