The Backside of a Rose

The backside of a rose corey amaro photography

Thank you for bearing with me. Between Annie's death, friends and family visiting, preparing to leave for California to see my family, I haven't had the head space to think straight.

The backside of a rose is also lovely.

I hope to start writing soon.

Don’t worry about taking an umbrella to California.
Hope you have a wonderful trip. Maybe you can bring some rain from France. 🙂

  9. For those of us vegetarians who “fall off the wagon” for sopas broth (LOL!) — since you missed your Holy Ghost festival, perhaps your mom can whip up a batch of the recipe in this article during your stay:

  10. Oops, I almost forgot: Boa Viagem!

  11. Too much pressure this blog sometimes. It is known you made a promise to a loved one to do this every day, but things change. We all benefit from your artistic writing (poetry) and beautiful photographs, daily! But I would imagine everyone on this blog on a regular basis, would understand you taking a break from your very hard rules you have placed for yourself. Take a deep breath and exhale. Disengage for awhile. Everyone will be here when you return Corey, I promise you.

  16. Hello Corey,
Glad to hear you are going home where you will be surrounded by those you love. You need to take care of yourself and take time to grieve such a huge loss. I appreciate that you share with us and now, we can share in just some quiet time.
Be gentle with yourself, I send you a hug.

Dear Corey. I have followed you for many, many years, usually silently, enjoying your life in France, musings and inspirational words. Now I must write knowing how you are suffering with the loss of Annie. You were both fortunate in that relationship. She to have you, and you to have her. I am sure your memories and faith will sustain you.
As for the writing, it will come….. Ernest Hemingway once said, ‘you need to pause, take time to fill the well’.
    My best, Lisa
