Puppy Love

And then Cindy, my brother's dog, put his head on my lap. I would have jumped but I would have fell out of the jeep. So I sat there in shock and held in fear. A dog on my lap. Wonders never cease!

A little step at a time, dogs seem to be determined to get you over your wariness of them.

What a little love. If she does not win you over, there is no hope. Sometime I would love to hear the story of what caused you to have such deep fear of dogs, even ones that are obviously so sweet.

  3. Sweet doggy! She knows good people. 🙂

A growing experience and fun with a brother all at the very same time. Wonderful!

I am sure your Brother would never endanger you. Cindy is obviously a love and really wants you to be friends. One step at a time. You don’t have to like every dog out there but do take advantage of getting to know the ones you are safe with. Cindy’s body language is saying you are safe and that she feels safe with you too. That is a compliment. Try to enjoy the love she is sharing with you.

  6. That first pic reminds me of your dad!

Are you afraid of dogs!? They are the best!

The photograph of Mark smiling and hugging Cindy while s/he gives him a kiss is delightful…he looks so happy, and s/he obviously is too.
Speaking of happy, Cindy looks very happy with her head in your lap. She can tell that you love her master and she, therefore, loves you!

I was enjoying each picture and imagining the fun you had on that drive with Mark, and as a dog owner I totally related to the joyous hug between man and dog, and then THE TWIST in the text! A dog touched you! And … you had to let it.
Slowly by slowly, the sweet dogs of the world are working together (all over the world it seems) to win you away from your fear of them.

I was also thinking this morning that MatwithoneT is not having to endure blog posts about brocantes because he’s getting to enjoy your actual presence there … without old stuff. Win win for Mat!

Well except for the “Sweet Antiques” post just before this one, that is. And they were sweet indeed. Just to keep Mat on his toes, I suppose.

  16. Deep down, you are a dog person, but don’t realize it yet. It will come. Dogs recognize dog people — they always know, and Cindy has spoken. 🙂
