Longest Hair Contest

The last few years my five younger nieces and I have been in a long hair contest. The last three years my niece Maci has won.

This year Gina, Maci and I cut ten or more inches off of our hair… we knew we would not win, nevertheless our hair was still long, just not long enough.

This year Marie, Molly and Kate took the honors. Marie had the longest hair she was the crowned winner.

We set out into the harvested rice fields with wreaths that I made from the nearby eucalyptus tree and orange flowers from my mom's yard.

The three of them love having their photo taken, and I love taking their photos.

2014 Winner Marie.

We all agreed we would have long hair forever.

Or maybe I just said that because I want it to be true.

Wait. This is last year’s long-hair-contest post? Or this years? I’m confused. Nonetheless, lovely sweet faces and delightful eucalyptus crowns (do they look familiar to me because these are last year’s pics, or because you do similar crowns each year?) and best of all: your lovely sweet relationship with your nieces.

  2. They look like woodland nymphs with their long hair and natural crowns. Great pictures of lovely subjects, and I love the eucalyptus! (none in Minnesota)

  3. I like that you have this contest with you nieces. What a special relationship you have with them. The photos are gorgeous and your nieces are gorgeous.

  4. It’s been fun watching them mature…they are all SO pretty !! 🙂

The Three Graces. How lovely they are!

  6. She mentions at the end that she is trying to figure how to load this year’s pictures.
