2015 The Longest Hair Contest

longest hair contest

2015 Longest hair contest. At last Molly won! We decided to stand tallest to shortest. I am soon to be the shortest in the family.

We wet our hair to give a fair judgement of length, and then started flipping it, but my nephew had a hard time catching us flipping our hair all up at the same time. So we stopped because dizzy was calling my name.

I haven't been home in the summer in years, and I must say WOW is it hot, really hot, like too hot. A swimming pool is a must, I have been saved from melting by my brother's pool.

Kate is nine. She has yet to win the longest hair contest, though neither have I. We are the faithful, running mates to encourage the others.

Chelsea is Kate's Godmother.

Marie 16 won last year. She cut off ten inches or so in October, and still it is miles long. Marie teases that she uses horse shampoo to encourage it to grow, but we know that isn't true.

Maci 14 has won more than anyone us. She has naturally curly hair.

  1. Hooray for Molly!
These precious kids are growing up too fast. I’m so glad there is a reason (excuse?) for us to see them annually when you have your long hair contest. You are lucky indeed to have such a large family, Corey.

  2. What gorgeous gorgeous girls and they all look as if they get on well together. What a blessing.

Wow. George has certainly outgrown the “little kid” stage. All of the nieces and nephew are very good looking..as a matter of fact, come to think of it the whole dang family is “handsome” including the senior generations. Most importantly you all seem very much connected to family values. Hooray! Thanks for all the updates and enjoy every last minute of the visit.

  4. Wetting the hair…that is a good strategy to level the field. Did you check for extensions, lol? 😉

  5. I do love this contest and tradition. I just know they love you.

What a bevy of beauties! And it looks like George has a future as a photographer! He is quite good. Must take after his godmother.

  7. Now THOSE are some gorgeous gals! All that great hair!

  8. Oh yes it is true about the horse shampoo ! It is called “Mane & Tail” and I know several women that swear by it. Lots of people use “Utter Balm” on their dry cracked hands in the winter too. I have this knowledge through my father-in-law the veterinarian.

  9. Such fun with your nieces! Love George’s photos, too!

  10. What a beautiful family you have Corey!

  11. Beautiful people in your family
