When Little Ones Grow Up

When Little Ones Grow Up

My niece Gina (16) came to pick me up at the airport.

Gulp.

Oh she is just a baby in my mind's eye, how can she be old enough to master a moving mass of metal going 65 mph?

Though considering the option of an older person (namely me) falling asleep at the wheel, the baby has the better score card.

I walked out of the airport and Gina pulled up perfect timing.

Colors of homeland raced by, trucks, faster cars, pick-ups too.

Gina kept her eyes on the grey pavement, I kept my non sleeping eyes on Gina in amazement, wonder and awe.

Where will you go little sweetheart with such bravery, willingness and confidence? Surely the road ahead is nothing to fear with you at the helm.

Hello Past, Present, Future.

The life cycle with its course, speed and goals.

Maci, Gina's sister was in the back.

Soon she will be picking me up.

Wonders of seeing little ones grow up.

Wonderful wonder.

When Little Ones Grow Up

Keep Calm and carry on.
