Want Me to be Your Personal Shopper

Want Me to be Your Personal Shopper

For the last several years Debi Lilly owner and creative mastermind behind The Perfect Event has asked me to shop for her event planning site/shop/services. Yesterday I took the plug.

I suppose seeing stacks of crystal, glassware and trays that Debi could use in sets of six and more was too much to pass up. Plus the prices were the right. Glassware is not something to easily pack. I never wanted to send something expensive and fragile just to see it break.

I contacted Debi via the cell phone and away we went.

I wrote Debi on Facebook and we were in both online in France, I became the eyes and hands in France for Debi who was just waking up.

As she later said, "The best breakfast ever!"

As Debi does masterful events in Chicago and beyond. She is always in need of product, it doesn't have to match, it doesn't have to be large scale to be perfectly perfect. Yesterday I bought over seven baskets full. As I carefully filled red plastic baskets full of glassware I had two thoughts:

1) How fun is this.

2) How nutty am I to want to pack this stuff.

1970s flower power glassware.

I also bought porcelain top spoons,

and a basketful of decanteurs.

I cannot wait to see them spruced up in one of Debi's displays.

  4. I wish we lived closer….we’re cleaning up my mother in law home…plenty of vintage there….too much to get rid of and so less time to contact local brocante shops…
