The French Muse

The French Muse

The French Muse Experience has come to an end, the next one will be in May 2016, though of course if you have four friends who want to come tomorrow or the next day or the week after, why not? We live here, and enjoy sharing our French experience with you. This last week has been incredible, utterly amazing. When we had antiques dealers who needed to fill a container we had the pleasure of taking them to places only a few can go to. A buyer's paradise. Seek and you shall find. And find then did.

The French Muse

An antique textile warehouse,

A castle.. honest to go,

Antique linen indigo dying,

Isle sur la Sorgue

The Paper Guy's place…

We visited our favorite dealers, except we could not go to Mo's as our car broke down… a real pity. Car fixed, though time did not permit.

The castle or chateau has been in slow decay, our friends are the caretakers… the interior was hand painted. At one point it started to rain. The massive windows were open, the storm raged, the water flowed inside, the rooms with their murals came alive. We spent two days rummaging through 10000 square feet of boxes!

More to share, but I am off to bed as the days have been so beautifully full that I am soaked, saturated and full of emotions.

Beauty can be a hefty overdose of joy.

    Those green jugs!
Oh, I hope you show us more and more and more in the coming days. This is such a treasure.
Do the caretakers know anything about the original owners? I looked at the video you/French Muse posted and wondered mightily about what life was like in that chateau when it was new. So intriguing. Thanks.

  2. Corey, thank you!! I’ve absolutely loved spending the week with you on your French Muse adventures. I love love love atmospheric weather…the more it thunders, rains and there is lightning the more I love it!! I’m so sad that I could not be with you but I’m planning the next visit as I type. Will email you in a few days once you have had time to rest and recuperate from your very busy week. Love and hugs XX
