Mr. Must Dash

Sacha who has teased me about having a home full of old thinks is starting to look very 19th century-ish. He has a moustache that curls at the ends… yes it is very vogue now, I get it… though he fits that look, and fits very nicely at home with the old things from that belle-epoque, I like to tease.

The Moustache.

I asked if wanted to wear one of my 19th century linen shirts, he didn't say no.

A few weeks ago when Sacha was home between classes he said,

"Mom you know how I have teased you about our home, how we have mirrors you cannot see in, chairs that do not sit comfortably, keys instead of handles… Well actually I do not mind. I have been in many homes over the last few years, and even though those homes are comfortable, nice and all, you mom are creative and your style is very appealing, I love how our home looks."

Dang if he had asked me for a car I would have given him one.

Who needs anything when you have someone who "gets" you and says so? It is like love on a platter with a big spoon.

Oh that Must Dash, my Boylo, is quite a dashing Franco-Americain!

This post seems to have come up twice, once with color photo and once without. Which to comment upon? I’ll comment on the one I read through first (no color) cause the black-and-white is more in keeping with his 19th century sensibility.
Your kids are surely accustomed to being photographed (and apparently good natured about it too!) I read in an interview that Adrian Brody the actor’s mom is a photographer and she took so many photos of him when he was a kid that he got very used to being in front of the camera. Unlike, say, semi-self-conscious me.

I forgot to comment about his “getting you.” Yes. What a wonderful affirmation to get from him. Buy that young man a car.

  3. Dang, if he asked me for a car I’d give him one, LOL – just kidding, what a handsome man he is!
My nephew said the same thing to me in Chicago, when my home was filled with European antiques…Auntie…your furniture is so pretty but so uncomfortable.

He is truly a door bell….. I mean adorable!

  5. My son gets me, too, and my heart bursts every time he does something that reminds me of this. What your young man has come to realize is that you have created a home and not a house. That’s so lovely and warms me up.

You creative soul, you! You not only attract delectable men, you create them! He should be modeling.

A car he says isn’t his first need, a new computer is on his wish list.

honest and true, I am glad to hear that those we love feel safe to say what they think. I like uncomfortable over practical most of the time, and everytime when it involves antiques.

I am gonna quote you ! Love that expression!
