Birds of a Feather

Birds

Came to Paris to arrange the apartment for some friends who are coming to stay tomorrow. Later I made dinner for Chelsea, Mr. Espresso, Alice and Sacha. A wonderful evening, one I wish would never end…

As I came to type my blog this evening I realized I had not taken a single photo… if only I could capture one of the images I have in my mind: Steady smiles, cozy happiness, pasta delight, sitting around the coffee table so-not-French-nor-us… but we have been doing so as it reminds us of when we were renovating the apartment and sat on big paint buckets and had a board on another for a table… Now the coffee table is the hip place.

The empty nest becomes birds of a feather flock together.

Feels good.

What did you do today?

  1. laundry, lunch with a friend, and time spent with family, all special.

  2. Hi Corey,
Sounds wonderful. Your words speak as clearly as any beautiful picture. 😉
What I did today: not go in the ocean…because of the unusually warm water this year, we have all kinds of new critters that are visiting: sand stingrays, hammerhead sharks and ugh, sea snakes. All of a sudden the old frigid Pacific looks pretty good.

  3. Still editing some of the 2,000 digital photos taken mostly by Farmboy Husband on our latest trip to Portugal. Can only do a certain number each day before I get dizzy and headache-y. Yes, I realized that’s a First World problem 😉

  4. Very productive day out with my best friend Alice. She has been doing some house remodeling, and today we were lucky and found fabric for reupholstering her sofa, and also found a lamp of clear glass that matches her want list. It’s actually not totally clear …. It has teensy air bubbles in the glass that makes it look like it has rained inside the glass. To top things off, the weather in my area has been gorgeous. Today … sunny and in the upper 70’s ….. so we had lunch outdoors at our favorite burger cafe. Can’t ask for better than that in mid-October.

Arranged the pictures, mirrors and other assorted items for a gallery wall….dinner out with my husband….quiet reflection of our children and grandchildren…perfect October day!

  6. What a lovely day. A day spent with our children and grandchildren is so special.

I love this, Corey! and am going to remember it next time someone is getting used to their kids moving out.
