What flowers speak Christmas to you?
The stargazer lily. I only buy them at Christmas. I arrange them with pine branches and put them through out the house.
I love a large red amaryllis!
I like Amaryllis too. Any color will do.
white roses ALWAYS THE WHITE ROSES!!
Love Amaryllis too, especially the soft antiquey pink and cream ones. Merry Christmas Corey! I am sending you some soaps, so sorry they will be late arriving but they will get there all the same. As usual, I am so behind in everything, have only just started baking..what a week!
Paperwhites
White poinsettias and paperwhites. And white roses.
Did you see that the daffodils have already come up in the parks in Britain due to the warm weather?

In New Zealand it is simply not Christmas until the house is fragranced with the heady perfume of Christmas Lillies or Lilium Regale. Flowering is from early December until the New Year. Every time I get a whiff of their divine scent I’m transported to Christmases of my childhood and warm memories flow. We have two large vases in the house and it’s truly Christmas!!
I LOVE amaryllis and as it was my turn to make the Christmas decoration for the whole Advent Season @ church, I buy every week 6 amaryllis (one for me to check at home the ‘state of health’) in a dark sensous red, add them to the red berry branches and eucalyptus – all nestling amongst real fir branches (VERY difficult to get here, contrary to Switzerland, where they are very common) and large cones (pomme de pin) – and I am a very happy girl. I don’t like the poinsettias any more – again, because in Switzie you have them EVERYWHERE and all over the place. Same in UK. Don’t know paperflowers – what’s that?
Can’t have anything lilies because of their ‘scent’ – nauseating and allgery creating (sadly) but always buy yet another one of the lovely Christmas Roses which I plant in the garden after the festive times… This year it’s a creamy one. Love them.
Amaryllis are such an expensive and quite inaffordable treat in Switzerland; here I can buy them for Euro5.- on my market at ‘my’ favourite stall and I even get some greenery thrown in for free. I have them as long as they are on sale and love to combine the creamy ones, which I can get seldom, or else the dark red ones and white ones. I also combine the different red ones and was astonished at the difference of ‘life cycle’ they had, the dark red ones nodding off to decay much earlier than the lighter red or white ones.
Happy Christmas to you and yours and Happy Christmas to all your faithful readers and friends. It’s a joy knowing you (albeit not in person). Kiki
Paper whites, holly and red berries.
do they have christmas trees in France? I thought I remember a story about getting one your first Chriatmas there.
In Queensland the poincianas are in bloom, their beautiful rich orange/red is always a joy.
We have one poinsettia and three Amaryllis growing in our home right now. We often have paper whites also. I do love them all.
