28 good things.

Or more

82 good things-

About you. About love. About life.

About today.

In a silver locket

a relic from a Saint.

Red thread wrapped under a red wax seal.

Was the heart intentional?

And it seem to say,

"Unloosen the thread that holds me back from loving."

Prayer comes from somewhere deep.

You know I like things that have a history, worn true.

Worn true.

Worn true.

Those are the things that last.

Silk pincushion heart.

Little bead trim with daisy petals…

650 Euros a pair. The dealer had four.

But it was the glass coffee table that attracted my eye… though it was

sold to some Italians before I arrived, "Great," I shook my head, "That is what I get for looking at the pincushion!"

Around the brocante.

Last weekend.

Alice had the brocante bug.

And dare I say the French Husband too?

Green trunk, pink chair.

A random photo.

Colorful rug.

"What are you looking for?" the antique dealer asked me.

"Whatever catches my eye" I said.

"Ah un coup de coeur! (In English: What attracts your heart.)"

Old books with those beautiful bindings?

How about a hat box with a handwritten label, stuffed with lace?

If I bought every stuffed animal that crossed my path at the brocante, I would have a zoo.

Instead I take photos of them.

One-Eye-Wonder, that is love. Imagine all the loving it shared.

Alice bought an old quilt, because when your suitcase is stuffed you can wear a quilt as a scarf.

Plant the seed.

Watch it grow

Happiness.

I love it when you take photos of things at the brocante. That pink chair was just darling. It looked like a child’s chair. I can see it painted white with the seat covered in one of those old quilts. More pix please, more, more, more…

  2. So many lovely colorful things. Different than the flea markets here.

yes please more brocante walks! whatever catches the eye is already clutched by the heart… agree w Toni.

  4. Thanks for taking me along to the brocante today. Love the finds, both those you wanted to take home and those you didn’t.
On Mondays, I play Dreaming of France on my blog and try to get bloggers to share their love for France, as you do every day. Here’s my Dreaming of France meme

  5. Alice is learning from the Brocante Master!

  6. Our French Oasis

I cannot wait for the Brocante season to start again here in the Charente Maritime, we are touted as the second sunniest region in France, after Provence, but still we don’t have any outdoor Brocantes until March, that’s when they all start again. Loved your photos this morning and now I can’t wait to get going, for nothing in particular, but as you say, for un coup de cœur. Merci

  7. Why does everyone else’s brocante look more enticing than our own!? Happy hunting!!

  8. Julia – Vintage with Laces

No flea markets over here, sigh. I have serious withdrawel symptoms.

  9. The hat box with the lace! I hope you bought it. I once went to a brocante in the town of Fontainebleau and met a woman who had cleaned out her grandmother’s basement and had a box of fabulous lace. I bought every piece and cried over the fact that she didn’t have a love for it and want to keep it! Thanks for the pictures, they will have to hold me over until my next visit!

  10. The green trunk and the little pink chair, to be left just as they are. Wonderful!

  11. It’s so nice to go on these little excursions with you, Corey. I looking forward to seeing my rosary.
