Awhile ago Chelsea started a challenge, a goal she gave herself, to run a marathon. In order to run a marathon you gotta run… so she started to do just that. Last year she ran a 10K race in Paris. We cheered her on, it was raining but that did not damper her spirit, nor her stride.

(Read more about last year's race by clicking here…)

Today in Paris Chelsea entered her third race, she ran it with Fabrice and his friend. Fabrice is Sacha's childhood friend. Fabrice will run a half marathon in Cannes later this month, he is lightening, really he is.

Fabrice and his friend (who races 80K ((yes you read that right)) so this was literally a walk in the park for him), went to cheer Chelsea on… Chelsea will run a half marathon March 6th in Paris, we will be there.

So while they were standing at the starting line, they snapped us this photo. Sleeping-Happy faces!

before the race

I asked Chelsea what she did yesterday, I thought she would say she rested… Instead: She worked half the day, then went out for dessert and coffee with Fabrice and Mr. Espresso, after she went to a movie, the girl never sits still.

When Chelsea and Sacha were younger I use to say to them: In life you will hear people who will say they are busy, and you will wonder how anyone can do all that they do… I have a theory: The More You Do, the More YOU DO. The Less You Do, the less you do.

Chelsea took this to heart.

Paris 6K race

Last March Chelsea ran the 6K and said she was exhausted at the end. I remember her saying that every part of her body hurt. Sacha had given her purple running shoes for Christmas, and she wore them… This Christmas Sacha bought her new running shoes, since the other ones were dead, I guess that is going to be an annual Christmas gift.

Fabrice sent this photo of Chelsea crossing the finishing line. She ran 10K in less than an hour, that was her goal.

It isn't snowing, it is foam/bubbles….

The race was along the Seine.

Chelsea said it was nothing like last year.

She is in shape, and ready for March.

The Encourager.

This was a video, his arm is extended holding the camera as he filmed Chelsea running towards the finish line, it was such a cool video, but unfortunately I could only save a photo of it….

I cannot believe he is going to do an 80K race… I cannot imagine how one does that, let alone a half marathon.

After the race animation was plentiful.

Alice, the young woman in the photo, is Chelsea's friend and running partner, last year Alice encouraged Chelsea over the finish line, this year due to a knee injury Alice couldn't race, though she came to congratulate Chelsea.

After the race there was food, drinks, animation and dancing!

So they danced in the rain.

They danced for three hours after 10K in the rain.

The more you do, the more you do…

The more we honor our dreams and work towards them…

Celebration is the reward.

When our children are happy, all is good.

    Congrats Chels! Yippee!!! Well done!

  2. Wow 80k that is amazing! I envision myself in the picture of the coffee and desserts, not in the pictures with running. 😉

  3. What a wonderful daughter you have, Corey. Congrats to her on a great run!

  4. You definitely can be proud of your children. Congratulations, Chelsea!!!

  5. I also had a dream to run a marathon and my first was the Paris Marathon. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
    Go Chelsea!

  6. Great day for Chelsea and you!

  7. Oh, the memories. I use to run….from my twenties until my late thirties. I ran 10k and once a half marathon. Even now…much, much older I get a twinge when I see someone running.
Running teaches endurance, and the ability to…put up with stuff…even when it hurts. It’s almost a metaphor for life.
    Congratulations Chelsea…..
