A clever little video, in silence, yet speaks volumes!
Do you speak French? When I was in high school my French teacher told me to stop taking his French class, he said,
"You will never speak French."
Mais non!

Love it! I took French my senior year in college just for the fun of it. There were no Japanese classes available, and my best friend was in France for the year and I missed her terribly. I sometimes tune in to the French lessons we have on public radio here in Japan, and I’m surprised how much I remember. I guess it’s because I studied it back when just for the love of language (and the 4 years of Latin in high school probably didn’t hurt!).
You sure showed that high school teacher, didn’t you?! :o)
Lovely video! And thanks for the links – I’m always looking for ways to improve my French, though a study-French-in-Paris programme would be the ultimate!
I thought you’d like to see this post by Igor Josif, who has a gorgeous blog and sometimes does something similar to your Saturday Art Saves.

This one features Robyn Thompson’s photography, and it’s really worth following his link to her portfolio – I think you’ll love her photos.
Wishing you a happy weekend xo
omigoodness. that is so sweet. i can imagine this happening with you and yann.
J’adore!!!
Tres Bien!!!!
Am learning French via Rosetta Stone. It’s a hard language to pick up because it doesn’t sound like it’s spelled, but oh, it’s so lovely. I am determined to advance beyond tourist phrases before my next trip.

Same thing happened to me. Wish I could meet the teacher now and tell her how hurtful and wrong her words were. That video is terrific.
Last year my coworker insisted that the French word for cat was pronounced shah. She took French classes at the U years ago. I replied “Ah non, mon amis. La pronounciation est shaaaaah”. She disagreed. I confirmed with friends from France, degrees in French that I was correct Coworker still disagrees…she is a bit stubborn.
Lovely to see this video. I was surprised how many words I recognized. Oh how I wish I could speak fluent French.
Do tell us, Corey — did you ever go back to visit your HS French teacher? Would’ve loved to have been a fly on the wall if you did; betcha speak far more fluently than s/he does!
I was told the same thing by my french teacher…she told me
“I am teaching you Parisian french, you are speaking Canadian french, if you can’t tell the difference, you shouldn’t be in this class.”
I never took french again.
I may still not be able to have a conversation in french, but I can read or listen and understand most of what is going on.
What makes high school french teachers so mean?!
ha ha teacher….he is bored silly in his life and you are living yours in France…
cute filem.
Tres charmante!
Call that French teacher toute de suite! Lay him out in (French) lavender.
So cute! I wish I had been able to enjoy this when I was struggling with my three semesters of French at university. I love the way the young man just scooted a little closer, but didn’t presume to put his arm around her! Teddee
