At the End of the Day

Tulips fading on the nightstand

elegant surrender.

The much needed weekend on the horizon.

What are your plans for the weekend?

I plan on drawing out the bathroom for the builder and marking light sockets on the walls.

  1. You are doing an amazing job – it’s seriously shaping up Corey!
I’m sure you are fit to collapse?
I am organising Carnaval for Lacoste – so will be getting all dressed up in my Remy from Ratatouille costume and carting a papier mache Carmentran up the perilously steep streets of Lacoste.
    Pray for me.
    Lots of love

  2. My daughter Emma and I are In St Louis for the weekend. This will be our 12th “mommy -daughter” weekend. Started when she was in 2nd grade and we came for the weekend to find her First Communion dress. A Very relaxing time filled with shopping, visiting the art museum and lots of good restaurants. Going to savor every moment as she leaves for Japan in 2 weeks and will be out of the country until August. Just going to enjoy our time together and not think about her leaving.

  3. Have some poem translations to work on this weekend. But we lose an hour due to the annual DST transition. Wish we could switch to DST year-round.

  4. Have fun with the drawings.
Lovely tulips! There is something so beautiful about tulips fading.

  5. Finding out if I can get firefighter boots in my size 7 which is men’s 5 or such before class starts next month…

  6. We finally have awoken to sun streaming through the windows, Spring is here in SW France! We are tackling the huge project of removing a vast amount of ivy which has been untouched for decades from an old stone wall which has stood for centuries and which surrounds part of our property. Hope you have a lovely weekend, Susan

I am going to get on my bicycle and cycle the sea wall in Vancouver – even tho it is supposed to rain. Can’t let rain stop us from getting out on the West Coast. It is Spring Break here and all signs of Spring are in the air. Daffodils in full blossom, the Japanese pink blossoms are very much in bloom, and many more. So are the allergies !! We have been to Cassis once and we loved it there. I hope we return one day. Have fun with your designs. Did you sell that beautiful family farm? Hope to meet you in your village one day for a coffee et croissant ! Bonne Journee et A Bientot !!

That photograph is just stunning. It reminds me of what the pictorialists did at the beginning of the last century.
    Bon Weekend!

  9. The tulips are gorgeous. I’m painting some furniture to give the illusion of patina. Like life….
Hard to tell what’s real and what’s not.

  10. Lovely photo. 🙂

  11. Dear Cory, Often tulips are more beautiful as they fade. I love the way they first stretch toward the light and grow even taller in the vase and then, as each petal falls, their coloring fades to an even more stunning hue. You caught it all in your beautiful photograph.
I remember walking with our electrician throughout our construction site and pointing to every corner where I wanted an outlet. He marked the spot and it was done in half an hour. To my chagrin I did isolate one wall.
    Happy marking.
