The lavender in my garden is blooming, weeks earlier than usual.

The bees were busy gathering.

Lavender in Provence, a sign of summer.

  1. The green pottery really complements the lavender flowers. Oh to be at your home, eating pizza fresh from the pizza oven and enjoying your company…

  2. ours too!! in the front yard-more sun and back too-I thought it was early time to visit our 2 local growers in upper bucks county!

  3. beautiful; my French and English lavender have both bloomed.

  4. Must be the most relaxing place to be right now for you and hubby….AH-hhh (sniff) I just had a massage last week with Lavender aroma therapy– heavenly.

  5. Please send some of your summer weather to us. Although we have escaped the floods and the rain, it’s been dry all week, we haven’t had sun either, just grey skies and chilly. Our lavender, by contrast, is way behind, all our plants are this year, it’s been a chilly April and May, all the locals are complaining!

  6. Lavender is (just) about the only thing living in my garden that has escaped the horrible rainfalls of the last week(s)…. Plus the marguerites who now lay across everything because of the long, long stems (up to 1.20m!) being unable to carry the flowers .
BUT yet, aren’t we so blessed, we had so far no serious water damage (a bit in the boiler room but that’s ‘normal’ and can easily be cleaned up) – and we can put on the heating again…. and we have electricity and and and….
Have a beautiful weekend – and let’s sniff those lavenders – they look (and smaell!) heavenly with my daisies & a branch of rosmarin & wild fennel.
    Love to all your readers

  7. I can smell it from almost 5,000 miles away.

I love it, so pretty. I want to see Provence when the fields are alive with purple!

Our lavender is blooming early too.
Oh that wonderful combination of lavender flower purple and those green pots! Love the colors; covet the pots. Thanks for sharing the pic!
