Sacha is in the land of milk and honey, or should I say sweetbread and sopas, or with his va and chocolate chip cookies, he is in Willows, his heart land. Today is the Festa in Princeton, Sacha helped celebrate by serving.

My nieces and sister in law Shelley sent me "snaps" from the festa.

  1. Boas festas!

There is a huge Portuguese community in New England. I love their festivals and I especially like malasadas (which I am probably spelling wrong.) It is a sweet, donut like fried bread (it has a hint of lemon in it) and it’s doused with sugar as soon as it comes out of the hot bubbly oil. They make them for festivals and also as a fund-raiser for the church. I’m first in line every time;) Glad Sacha is having such a wonderful time. He’s a lucky boy that one, loved on both side of the Atlantic.

  3. Sacha looks like he is having the time of his life. What fun for your whole family.

  4. How fun. So many small towns celebrate their immigrant roots. A good lesson.

Thank you Corey for sharing Sacha’s experience in celebrating the strength and beauty that immigrants have brought to our country. Thank you for sharing Sacha’s joy in being with family. Today’s climate of fear saddens me; I wish everyone could see such a celebration as this.

When I see photos of Sacha and your nieces and nephew I am amazed at how “grown up” they are all getting (gotten). The festival looks wonderful. It does my heart good to see people celebrate their heritage and for others to join in. How wonderful when we all come together.

  8. I looks like I will need to make one of these fests–especially being so near Chico. We are packing up and making final plans for our trip to your Paris apartment, Corey. So excited!!
    xx, Heather
