The best time to buy lavender is after the harvest in July, not before the harvest in July.

We were in this field, that actually has a hiking trail that runs through it to Valensole.

Anyone game for a picnic there next year?

A wheat field for baguettes,

a sea of lavender,

a castle,

the alps and

the halo of clouds,

what is there not to love?

  1. Beautiful, you can almost smell the fields via the photo! The lavender fields of this Seattle home are two huge lavender bushes on either side of the front walkway. The bees are quite busy today bobbing in and out from each flowering stem .

  2. OH MY GOSH……LOVE IT ALL!!

  3. And LOVE we do! Beautiful!

  4. Breathtaking! I have maybe 100 plants……and they take my breath away every single day! These are pictures of thousands! Just wonderful!

  6. Corey, I never cease to be amazed by the artist’s eye you possess. Your photos are beautiful. Sarah will be amused. Xoxo

  7. What is there not to love indeed. We planted lavender all along one side of our swimming pool, when someone brushes against it the scent fills the air, it’s an easy plant to grow here, a low lavender hedge is hard to beat!

  8. What gorgeous colors–from the vivid lavender to the pastels of the mountains and sky to the tans of the earth, wheat and even the town. There is something so appealing in those confident, straight rows.

  9. So that’s where all these essential oils come from. No wonder they smell so good. Beautiful photos!
