My friends Denise and Vlad are back in France!

For the last forty eight hours I have been utterly spoiled

by their loving attention, catering and swimming in their paradise.

Soaking it up with thanksgiving!

What made your heart swell today?

  1. a postcard from France!and an act of kindness for an artist in Bordeaux-my lucky day – love from France!

  2. Being able to celebrate my parents 59th anniversary today with them and all of our family!
This last year has been difficult to say the least, but we are still moving forward. Trying to savor the moments.

I am thankful to be celebrating the birthdays of both of my children today, both born on August 25, eleven years apart. My daughter is 50 years old today, and her baby brother is 39. They are two of the best people to have happened in my life. Glad to hear you had a thankful day too, Corey!

  4. Nothing as perfect as perfect as relaxing with friends

  5. I am thankful that I might be getting by with a light case of the shingles! AND that fall is just around the corner. THANKFUL.

Knowing that this two weeks from now, I’ll be in sunny Provence, too, for my next séjour.

  7. Getting the kid out of the hospital made my day. I must once again sing the praises of socialized medicine.

  8. Thankful for the window air-conditioner, where I can retreat in the afternoon heat for a long, cool nap!

  9. Oh, I remember that pool! Christine is going to give you and Yann, and Denise and Vlad BIG hugs from me. Wish I were going to be there too – another time I hope! xoxo

Here’s what made my heart swell:
David and I were just walking up to join a good-sized group at our church for a Sunday morning work day at a camp that provides fun and respite care for disabled folks.
The camp’s director and his wife are friends of mine, and their boys have gotten to know me. I was strolling up, a little late, to join the group when suddenly a sturdy little three-year-old barrels through the edge of the crowd and runs all the way to where I stood. I plopped immediately on the ground and gathered him to me in a big hug.
Now that makes a girl’s heart swell.
