Those columns take my breath away.

  2. Fascinating and beautiful. The internet says it was in tact until the French Revolution when it was taken apart.

  3. Wow! That is amazing! I think I would walk here often if it was near my home. It is beautiful!

  4. What interesting ruins. Being crazy about vieux pierres, I had to look it up. A fixer upper! An 18th century count built a vast home on the remains of a medieval château. You can kind of see where they said, hey, look at that door jamb lying on the ground–let’s use it here!
Seized during the Revolution, the buildings were dispersed and park fell into ruin.
Thanks for the discovery! I love your photos….as usual.

  5. What is the history of this amazing place?

  6. haunting photographs…backstory on this place?

  7. Well, I’d be wandering all over this treasure every single day!!!

I’m fascinated with this — especially that facade with all the columns, so Greek or Roman looking — and now I’ve got to look up its history.
Meanwhile, you had an outing with your “kids”!
