Tell Me Your Way to Happiness

The Way to Happiness

The way I find happiness?

Taking time to be with another.

Listening not only to words, but what is inside of someone's

hearts (feelings), hands (what they are carrying) and their movements (what are they doing).

Trying to be a compassionate listener.

The Way to Happiness

Cultivating that which I love.

Planting it deep within my being.

Watering it faithfully with my time and energy.

Remembering to share what I have been given abundantly.

The Way to Happiness

Believing in those who love.

Believing that I am loved.

Believe it when the sun is shining and especially when the sky is dark.

The Way to Happiness

Something I say and need to learn:

Stand strong in your beautiful self,

and when you cannot, ask someone for their hand,

Then hold on and trust.-

Plus

Trust that the gift you have been given is good,

even if it sometimes feels as worthy as a sack of potatoes.

The Way to Happiness

And to laugh as much as I can.

Humor is a good medicine.

What are your ways to happiness?

Family, friends, health, chocolate and wine are a given…

  1. Making words jump through hoops 🙂

  2. Telling a friend about something that is of great concern and that friend offering encouragement and prayers. We all like to be loved, even though we know certain people love us, it always is validating when they say so. That is what makes me happy.

  5. Your words and pictures always inspire.

  6. In no particular order:
    A good night’s sleep.
    Knitting.
Helping others learn something new about the Bible or themselves.
A good meal or a good dessert.
    Exercising (although I complain).
    Helping others.

  8. I have no instant method or path to happiness but I find doing small craft projects that I can give to friends as a spirit of friendship can bring a little bit of happiness and that is a step in the right direction.
I started doing Japanese braiding called Kumihimo years ago when foam looms became available. I use embroidery floss or embroidery cotton in a ball. I make bracelets and necklaces for my friends and grandchildren, who are also making them now. While I have moved on to more complicated styles where several patterns are alternated, I create a meaning for each and then write it down to give with the bracelet. It is easy to use quotes or Bible verses as well. Should anyone wish to see how it is done, I usually send this video to watch, no connection to me, it is just a simple one to learn. I don’t use purchased ends, just use the loop and make a knot at the other end, you can look l online for kumihimo, it is a nice portable way to relax.

  9. My garden….hands dirty…..dirt streaked across my face….digging away. Creating something beautiful where nothing existed…true happiness for me.

  10. Oh, I’m not complicated, a loving family, clean house and good health. Cannot ask for anything more. Except for French holy cards and small treasures.
    Beautiful post.

  13. I love feeding people, which is strange because cooking stresses me out. But I love having groups of people eating in my home and just connecting. I get such a sense of great love in those moments. So, I find great happiness in feeding people. I also find great happiness when I find someone who loves me enough to tell me hard truths. And though those hard truths might make me sad or regretful, I find happiness in the fact that they love me enough to walk through those difficult conversations with me and still continue to walk beside me when it’s done.
