Ellen came over before heading to stay with her elderly cousin on the other side of France. A short intense visit. Words do not hold the value nor love that my heart holds for this friend of mine, history does. I will be eternally grateful for her steadfast love.

Such a friend is a treasure. So glad you had yours with you.
Seeing the photos, I’m struck by how physical you are. It’s lovely. I think that as we grow up, we physically pull back from people. I hug my U.S. friends (and cheek-kiss the French ones), but the hugs are the first time I see them after an absence. If I see them two days in a row, we’re unlikely to hug. But when I see my daughter with her friends, they are always hugging and holding hands. It’s wonderful.

  17. Ellen was our longtime neighbor in the Midwest and did some babysitting for us. We feel she was a real influence on our son’s architectural career. She always had that fabulous heart–just like her beloved parents. You both are most fortunate in your special friendship!!

    Gladys,
Soooo fabulous to hear from you!
Corey is truly a soul sister.
I love that you read Corey’s blog. The blog is only scratching the surface of her deep creativity and love.
My favorite memory of baby-sitting for Ned and Anne is this. I would lie on the floor with Anne on my back and she would brush my hair while Ned was in front of me with a big piece of paper between us drawing on it together. a lovely memory for me.
