As the last light of the day fell softly the shadows begin to play. The House Next Door has an old soul. The only new things in the house are the fridge, bed, linens, utensils floor tiles, and the pots and pans. Everything else is either an antiques or bought second hand. The house invites the imagination to take up residence.

Our first visitor arrives tomorrow afternoon.

If you like to take time

to dream

to create,

to go for hikes,

To cook, to sing, to be inspired,

to let your hair down and take baths

This House and you have a lot in common.

Rene, the artisan with golden hands, is a master of creating beautiful spaces.

I enjoyed every minute sharing my ideas with him, and then watching them come alive with his amazing skill. I am in utter awe. Never have I worked with someone so hard working, talented and easygoing.

Pure Joy.

Rebecca, then Jackie, then Sheree, the Gina… the House Next Door is a home away from home, a place to let your roots soak in Provence and the beauty of being still.

  1. Oh my heart be still. It is just incredible. How I wish I had a trip planned your direction. I would stay right here and never, never want to leave.

  2. The photos look like

  3. The way you did the tiles, with the grout lines pretty much invisible, it really looks like fine wood floors. But much more durable.
I am so sorry to hear about Babette. She looks like a sweet soul.

  4. the photos are lovely but a bit grainy I see what you are trying to do to make it appear “old” but I wish the photo’s were in color, or sepia tones for better contrast between the subject(s) and light streaming through the windows…

  5. More photos please!!!

  6. We’ll be in Provence from 29/10 to 1/11 but we don’t know yet if in Aix or Salon, we have to book a room yet. Is these places far from where you live?
