Black butte cruise

Cruising with Christine through the Black Buttes with the top rolled down. Oh Northern California you know how to shine with your good looks and blue skies.

Such pleasure seeing those hills green.

Long road through the black buttes

After living all these years in France I understand what the French often notice when they come to the States… open space, far, wide, big skies, a big chunk of wonder and awe, to stretch out and breath.

Empty space.

The road ahead asked, “Are you gonna follow or not?”

The oak tree waves, “Look over yonder, plant a thought or two, then grab a cloud and go.”

The cloud up above floats by as if to say, “Let it be.”

Christine and I drove on,

letting the day unfold before us.

The incredible fortunate joy of being able to just be who we are where we are.

Where is the road leading you?

  1. Oh wishing to be part of this mini heavenly road trip!
Happy belated blog birthday and sending much gratitude to be able to follow along on the journey.

  2. Pretty! But for the mountains, it looks like the Midwest. Open sky, rolling hills.

  3. Wow! I can tell you when the English come to America, we think the same thing, we are so mesmerised by the huge skies and big open spaces, England of course is way more overcrowded than France!

With kids becoming independent and older relatives no longer needing, help I’m looking at the road ahead and thinking “what do I want to do with the rest of my life?” It’s a bit scary but also exciting. I predict a big change and a lot of happiness.

  5. Oh …I can feel being there again as I see your pictures. Been away too long from N Ca. and those endless skies!!! I think my road should make a trip there again soon!

  6. Beautiful wide open roads! My heart yearns for it, but for now I sit where I am and dream.

  7. Now you’re just making me homesick. No fair!

  8. The pictures are pretty. Thank you for the visit! Xo
