This and That

I am spontaneous to a fault. Most things fall in my lap. Which I do not take for granted. Often I can sense things before they happen. I do not need to measure to know if something will fit. When telling a story I mispronounce words and mix up facts. School was beyond me, I bloomed late.

I love cleaning up a mess. I do not follow instructions well. The numbers 53 or 35 speak to me, they usually appear when I least expect it, often pointing me in the good direction. I like peanut-butter, jam (Wild blueberry, black cherry or blackberry jams are my favorite. Though I rarely eat them without cheese.) and cheddar cheese sandwiches. In the 29 years I have lived in France I probably have served sandwiches for lunch less than five times.

Did you ever wonder where my blog banner came from?

An old, large engraving of a woman with a pearl earring. A spoonful of miniature vintage Mercier champagne dice. An antique dealer told me that years ago when a person bought a glass of Mercier champagne at a bar, it was served with two dice. Whether that is true or not I do not know.

Oh I do not know why I use that image and dice for my banner, I just like it that is all.

Though I am considering taking off Tongue in Cheek, is that okay?

Tagging you to list any weird skeletons in your closet.

WAIT…what? I missed something…like just taking off the lettering “Tongue in Cheek” or taking off Tongue in Cheek? One is okay, I guess, the other is a definite, “NO.” Skeletons? Ummmm…I’ll never tell.

In 1975 I took a cross country trip (NYC to SF for $69 RT) on a 1949 greyhound bus owned by two hippies. They took out the seats and put in wall-to-wall mattresses. No seat belts. It was me and 20-ish strangers. When in SF I had lunch with the Sun Myung cult (obviously I escaped.) I worked for an answering service in CA and one of our clients was the Doobie Brothers band. The first time I saw the ocean I took off my clothes and jumped in (I figured people would think the matching bra and panties was a swimsuit.) Believe it or not I am risk-averse. I think through decisions very carefully but once I make up my mind I rarely change it. I hate onions but I love garlic. People who think they know me will tell you “she’s a social butterfly,” actually I’m a loner. I am terrified of snakes, heights and motorcycles. I love cheese, creativity and intellect. I’ve found that everyone has a story, oftentimes the person whom you’d least expect has the most profound story of all…which brings me to my favorite quote:
“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

  3. I thought the same thing as Sheila…WAIT…what?????
I’m not sure I’ll sleep tonight, Corey, you need to clarify.
