The Light Through the Keyhole

The locked door

In our town, next to the church, there is a door to a sinner's chapel (11th to 17th century). It is locked and abandoned.

Hundreds of years ago, it was a place to pray for forgiveness, to seek freedom from darkness, to seek healing light. The sinner's chapel was a place of contemplation where one could seek communion with oneself and God.

The door remains locked, entering is impossible, nevertheless light finds it way and pours through the keyhole, can you see it?

Nothing can stop the power of love.

You didn’t take me to the sinners chapel??????

  2. Jacklynn: Perhaps, to quote Fred Rogers and Josie Carey’s famous song, Corey thinks “I Like You As You Are.” She didn’t take us there, either :-)))

  4. Love brings the light and save from darkness.
Such a god analogy, dear friend. May the light shine in a world of great darkness.

I’d be working the network to find somebody with the key so I could get inside! And old place with a locked door? How tantalizing!

  6. the metaphor is just perfect for these challenging times

I’ll bet seeing what’s on the other side of that door is on your bucket list.

    Intrigued.

  10. How sad it’s locked. Time alone with God, seeking forgiveness and light is much needed in our world today. What a cool reminder.
