A few basic things about going to the brocante in France:

Go as early as you can.

Bring a bag to carry your finds.

Have cash.

Remember to say, "Bonjour" before asking the price.

Small 1900s baskets for poker chips.

I did not buy them, they were 15 Euros a basket, they were slightly bigger than the palm of my hand.

My friend bought it for her shop.

  1. Sweet mercy.
That first painting, the strokes! The second painting, I can almost smell the soft fluffy petals of the flowers! I’m having arrhythmia over that sea float, seriously, I’m crying a bit just looking at it. Thor’s initials are “J.B.” The third painting – seriously? This whole stream is causing me to break several commandments just looking at it.
What a lovely day you must have had! Thank you for sharing it with us!

  2. Like a day at the candy store. The only thing that would make it better would be free samples.

  3. Exactly…..just like a kid at a candy store. Love it

Corey, where is this brocante? I’m very jealous as there was nothing happening near Monpazier this Sunday. Maybe I need to winter in the south!

  6. Tongue in Cheek

Provence is a paradise for the brocante:
Isle sur la Sorgue (first painting)
    Villeneuve des Avigon (second photo)
    Carpentras
    and Aix en Provence.

  7. You’re on to something with that “free samples” idea!
