Some Say Love… The Rose

Garden Rose, Corey Amaro

"Some say love, it is a river
That drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
An endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
And you its only seed.

It's the heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking
That never takes the chance.
It's the one who won't be taken,
Who cannot seem to give,
And the soul afraid of dyin'
That never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the spring becomes the rose."

The rose is from our garden.

The song:

"The Rose" is a classic pop song written by Amanda McBroom and made famous by Bette Midler.

One of my favorite songs especially when our roses bloom.

  1. Is this from the climbing rose bush on your backyard? What type of rose bush you have?

Love the roses. Regarding your post on the apt. next door, it is so rustic and French. The only thing missing is a big bookcase full of novels… this place looks totally relaxing, reading would be a must on the fainting sofa.

Your rose possibly could be Eden, a French rose. I have one too.

I needed to see your rose and hear that song again after the devastating news out of Manchester. Thank you.

There was a time that Jim strummed his guitar and I sang that song for many a wedding. Fond memories. Beautiful rose.
