Rue Des THERMOPYLES in Paris

Doors and flowers in Paris

The first thing I did today was walk over to Rue des Thermopyles to check out the flowers. It is a quaint cobblestone street a stone throw from our place in Paris. This month especially it is colorful with the flowers in bloom, more so the vines with orange trumpet flowers growing wildly across the street.

I purposefully did not include a photo of the vines so if you are ever in Paris you will be surprised.

Two lovely well tended parks are on rue des Thermopyles, you cannot miss them. Whenever I am in Paris, and as it is nearby, I wandered around those tiny streets and sit in the park for a while. The flowers this morning had raindrops on their leaves and petals

Tomorrow evening there is an open air movie playing on the street, amongst other things.

I hope to take a peek before meeting a friend for dinner at Chez Josephine.

Noted as one of the most beautiful secret streets in Paris… five minutes on foot from our apartment, in the unknown, off the beaten path in the 14th arrondissement, it is an oasis of calm and greenery

May, June, and October are the months I find it most beautiful.

Today's photos are from this street.

If you are looking for out of the way places in Paris, then walk in out of the center, explore by getting lost. By our apartment there are several cobblestone streets, covered with vines, flower boxes, not so perfect facades, diamonds in the rough, charming passages with tucked away parks.

It’s always amazing how a city as densely built as Paris can be so full of greenery and flowers.

The doors are fantastic (especially the yellow!) and I love those pink hydrangeas. Lovely photos.

I, who nearly every week used to fly from the U.S. West Coast to London, spend nearly two days there and then fly back to the West Coast, marvel at your ability to make the transition in cultures, time zones, etc. so thoroughly, (or so it seems)! Bravo, Corey
