There Was a Knock on the Door

Yesterday as I was going about my day, there was a knock at our door.

I was curious as I knew it wasn't the postman, and as it was lunchtime I knew it wasn't a French person, because they would never come uninvited around lunchtime, etiquette would have it so.

Doubting myself I thought, "Did I invite someone and forget about it?"

When I opened the door there stood our friends from Austria. My mouth fell open as I stood there in utter surprise, speechless.

Our friendship goes way back… Motorcycle adventures, apple strudel, cafe hopping in the Alps and that library.
