Home, Family and Heart

Home Hearth France Family Corey Amaro

We are in Willows, back to the nest. Yann, Sacha, Chelsea, Martin and I.

The fire is burning, the cookies are being made, the motorcycles are going around and around, the children are in and out of my mother's home all day, and I have been in bed sick. It seems every time I come home, I catch a nasty cold. This one had me down for four days, and we are staying for ten days. Grr. Though I would rather have a cold here than alone back home. So, even though I am disappointed by being ill, I am happy to be with those I love and admire.

Tomorrow, we plan to look at wedding dresses! How fun will that be! My mom, sisters-in-law, nieces, me, and, of course, the bride-to-be. I cannot wait to share the experience.

In the kitchen, the cookie makers were at it, with my mother at the helm: snickerdoodles and chocolate chips.

I’ve stayed healthy so far, up here in Alaska, knock on wood 😉 Come to think of it, I’ll go take more C and Zinc right now!
God bless you (and the wedding dress hunt!)

Sending you prayers for good health. Enjoy your family and all the festivities of this holiday. Very special that you will be shopping for a wedding dress. And what a nice family reunion – doesn’t get better than that. Enjoy!

  5. Homemade chicken noodle soup should help. Hope you get well soon and the wedding dress shopping is fun and successful.

  6. Oh this post brings a tear to my eyes. Family being together is so very special. You remind me of joyful times as a young girl with my family together. Enjoy wedding dress shopping.

  7. Sending empathy to you re the cold you caught during your travels. We both caught one at the very end of our recent Azores trip, and have been sick for over two weeks now. In recent days we’ve finally begun recovering by inches, but had been hoping for leaps and bounds…
Any chance your grandmother’s wedding dress can be altered (presumably lengthened in the waist and hem) in order to fit Chelsea?

  8. Yes, I’m sure it’s good to be home with all those people you love, even if you’re sick. I hope you feel better today!
And what fun to look at wedding dresses. Looking forward to any updates on that!
I remember shopping for my wedding gown in a bridal shop that had a circular platform with mirrors all around. Fun to try on the beautiful dresses and twirl around, but I ended up with a simple white lace shift that I actually found at Ross DressforLess!! And it was just right!

  9. How wonderful!! So happy for you that you get to spend the holiday together. Blessings and happy thanksgiving. 🦃🍽🍁

Sending Thanksgiving blessings to you and yours, hope you feel better Corey…my hubby and I have had the “bug” too but for me it wasn’t bad. It’s been going around here on the East coast for sure. We are having company and also bringing a meal to my elderly neighbor who comes home from hospital today….This is such a special time of year and we have much to be thankful for. Have a wonderful time with your family!

  21. With all that love in the air, wonderful aromas, wedding talk, dress shopping and family surrounding you, you are bound to make a quick recovery. Keep drinking lots of fluids and don’t neglect your rest. Get well soon and enjoy! Thanksgiving good wishes to you and your family!

  22. Get well quickly – you have to be in great form to live up to all that beautiful, wonderful excitement 🙂

  23. I hope you are fully on the mend and can enjoy your days at home with full health. I always seem to be sick on school breaks, holidays, and whenever the grandbabies come to visit. So annoying, but when one works with 1500 eleven-to-fourteen year olds every day, it can’t come as a surprise. Sigh.

  24. You have a dream family! It is sure to be a storybook wedding. So nice to hold onto in this scary world.

  25. Anne Jeffries

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours,Corey. Good bless you, all.

  26. Hi Corey Just wanted to share a tip someone gave me a few years ago that really works for me when we fly anywhere – Saline nasal spray… I use it before the flight, during the flight and then for a couple of days after and no more colds!
