Let it Snow while I Go to the Brocante

Let it Snow while I Go to the Brocante

Snow it did.

I woke up to a winter wonderland with a hush that comes as gentle as a lullaby, a blanket of white that matched the sky.

At first I thought "No brocante" and went back to bed. But soon after I saw on the internet that there wasn't snow over yonder by the brocante. That news made it easy to get up and get going.

I went to my closet to find warm clothes, and instead layered four sweaters and leggings pants and socks… warm was a need be.

Going was easy, hopefully the return trip will be the same.

My niece Marie snapped after I sent her a photo of the snowfall, she said,

"I like to be outside in the snow for about ten minutes, and then I love being inside watching it snow."

Wet, cold, snow, slippery mess… inside please.

When we arrived at the brocante it was as true as the news listed, no snow to be found! A brocante in its place. Happy me. But it was FREEZING!

  1. Big hugs I am glad you were able to go.
I don’t like winter or the snow.
    I prefer to be inside
    Hugs

  2. Lovely pics of snow. Imagine you received fresh snowfall in France, and I was hoping for more of the white stuff, up in Anchorage, before I left, and was disappointed!
I’m in Denver, winging my way back to Zurich 🙂

  3. I went to the Carpentras brocante this morning and the wind was soooo icy cold! I was amazed though that there were no signs anywhere to find the place. We followed the people being blown in. Nevertheless many brave people out there.

  4. You can lean and snuggle Yann while shopping!
Like Jeanne, I much prefer being inside, watching it snow outside.

  5. Love these pictures Corey. They look vintage, especially the first!
That image of you bundled up gives a pretty good idea of how cold it was.

  6. I never experienced snowfall until I was 21, and promptly reacted like your niece Marie — the white stuff is highly overrated!
Plus, there are all the perils to life and limb associated with it, including slipping and sliding (both vehicles and pedestrians), the stuff refreezing and turning to ice — and the risk of power lines coming down, leaving folks without electricity.

Is there therapy for this? The snow is pretty but too cold to be out and about.

Loved immensely all the pictures! Thank you so much for sharing these 12 years!

Thank you for the snow pictures! Being from, and having returned to, a place where it rarely snows, and even more rarely does any snow stick to the ground, I love snow.
Congratulations on having blogged faithfully, and beautifully, for twelve years…that is a huge and wonderful accomplishment!

  11. Pretty snow shots!
We had the most cinematic flakes all day Saturday but the ground was too warm for anything to stick. It was fun to walk around the lights and decorations with the flurries and without the mess.

  12. It seems so strange for our weather to be milder than yours. I like snow for five minutes and then be gone. Just enough for a photo shoot.
