Wedding Decor

Corey amaro styling photography and collection (7)

As Chelsea and Martin's wedding is on July 6th we have plenty of time to think about decor, theme and what not.

Chelsea unlike me prefers simple, understated decor, then, on the other hand, she did mention the other day, "We could just pack up the house and use it as decoration for the wedding! You have plenty of urns and that stone angel could be the centerpiece of a roundtable when you walk in…"

Martin who loves color especially bright pink and flo-glow blue and sunshine yellow. His family spent a few years in Mexico my assumption is that encouraged his color palette tremendously. Anyway, Martin asked me (the non-bright color person who would jump off a cliff towards solemn tones) "You can make our wedding beautiful can't you?"

In which to both of them I thought, "Just the two of you celebrating your love will be a beautiful bright simple elegance divine."

But maybe that stone angel will have to crash the party.

  1. There is no doubt the mother of the bride would know how to decorate a wedding, especially the one for her daughter. Your design talents are incredible.

  2. Some colorful bouquets to satisfy Martin’s love of color against a palette of whites? It will be beautiful if you design it.
[Just have to avoid shabby chic because Miss Haversham ‘s would come to mind.]

  3. A lot of pale colors are nice for a wedding…pale pinks, pale yellows, blues…

Yes the urns and stone angel with be lovely guests! Everything you touch is beautiful so they certainly asked the right person. xoxoxo

  5. I vote for the stone angel to make an appearance – it would go with any decor or color selection. So fun peeking in on the plans all of you are making (love that Martin wants to make suggestions!).

  6. If anyone can make it beautiful you can!

  7. Is it rude to laugh out loud at Martin’s question? Is the Pope Catholic? xoxo

  8. I love to hear all of the plans.

Maybe save the “pops” of color for the reception / after party?
I see that in the weddings I play for: the ceremony is more soft and Romantic and the party after is “fun” colors….
    Maybe???

  15. When my daughter married we actually did pack up the house and use all of my collections to decorate. My daughter told me that she wanted the venue to feel as if our friends had come to our home for dinner and asked if she could use all of my things. So we packed a U-Haul trailer with my collections of French lace, silver pitchers, trays and candlesticks and china and just prior to the big day decided to take my 1890 pump organ. It was a very cold and misty day and the venue had floor to ceiling windows so very cozy and warm with the light from the candles reflecting beautifully. Intimate and welcoming. Grateful that your post brought these memories to mind. Best wishes to Chelsea.
