Shopping for a Wedding Suit

Shopping in Paris for a suit

Martin said he was going to have his wedding suit tailored made and wanted to know if I would like to come along to help him decide, I could hardly say yes fast enough! So this weekend I came to Paris where he and Chelsea live, we went to the tailor to look at fabrics, buttons, collars, pockets, lining… Oh, how lovely it is to have a future son in law so very much into the details of his wedding to our daughter. I feel so fortunate to be included.

Samples, examples,

woolens and silks, blends of both.

Martin has his eyes on a royal blue three-piece Italian cut suit, with dark brown buttons to match his shoes.

I love it.

And know we have to wait and see…

  1. Oh how wonderful. Thanks for sharing everything about the upcoming wedding.
Such an exciting time in your lives.

  2. Love that color! My Dad had a tailor who made his suits. The workmanship was extraordinary. What a compliment to be invited to go suit shopping. Thank you for bringing us along with the wedding and reception planning.

  5. What a wonderful Belle Epoque building in the first picture.
I love the fabric and the button color. Perfect for a south of France wedding. How exciting!

This is so funny….a sure sign that Martin is French! Most American grooms choose their wedding suit at the last moment, and under duress from the bride. So glad he is taking as much of an interest in what he is wearing as the bride is! This is going to be a fun year for us to witness! And about that scar on your chin (ow ow ow!)….it will surely be gone by this summer! There is a product here that reduces scarring….surely there is a similar one there!

WoW, you are lucky! Pure class that Mr Expresso is. How are your injuries from the fall?

  8. This really is the wedding of the year for all of us. Not the one in England…
    Thanks for taking us along.
