Stories Collected While Living in France
Take an apple
caress it on your sleeve,
until the golden delicious sunshine beams.
Core the center (by piercing around the stem),
then intermix the autumn jewels,
Walnuts, dates, cinnamon, raisins…
Bathe in maple butter syrup
Overflow the apple core.
Gently bake the golden gem,
until the colors fuse.
Dare to enjoy it without a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Something my mother would make for me as a little girl. Delicious memories!
