Beautiful books and just love those old pages with the antique script writing. Part of my story? Not sure which part to tell…maybe just that I’m about to turn 66 and I’m still wondering what I’m supposed to be doing with my life…..surely it must be more than taking care of dozens of stray animals and an elderly neighbor, or making soap…where did the years go?

Gee I am beginning to think my earlier post must’ve sounded a bit too negative….must be all the snow we’ve been shoveling this month…three Nor’easters in less than a month and another on the way next week! This last one dumped 26 inches of snow on us. I think I’m just tired and sore today… 🙂 So there’s a part of my story…living in New England and shoveling snow for nearly 40 years after being a “flatlander” Even my years in England living rather primatively were less strenuous!

Chris, it didn’t sound negative to me. I’m sure the animals and your neighbor are very happy to have you in their lives.
That must be a miniature chair in the first photo. If so, they are quite collectible and often worth more than the full scale!

  4. look at the post time 1st one 1:47 2nd one 4:17 how cool is that-I agree with Diogenes-not negative at all….although not as severe as New England our part of the East Coast is feeling it too-tired of the sub spring temps and the piled up snow-just heard about the one coming next Wednesday….UGH-one of my cats is at the back door sitting on the air conditioner ….must dash to get him-it is my t t (two tone) snow shoe Siamese from the streets-bad eyes bad teeth but SO HAPPY HE FOUND US!

Thanks to you all as well. Sometimes life just gets me down when I see how neglected my elderly neighbor is, when she has a family member living there with her who cares so little about what her needs are, and then I see the animal abuse cases we’ve had this winter, really appalling, and I wonder what in the world is wrong with this world, when did people become so uncaring? But then I read the words of all the lovely people on this blog and realize the good folks must surely outnumber the bad ones 🙂
