Tossing Love

After the Civil Ceremony, we blew bubbles.

Wedding

When Yann and I were married we were showered with rice.

I mean showered!

Have you ever been showered with rice? It feels like bee stings.

In Provence, it was a tradition to throw rice too.

flowers

Chelsea wants to have dried flowers tossed at them when they leave the church.

I have been collecting flowers and drying them.

Dried flowers shrink to nothingness, well darn near nothingness.

I am going to be collecting flowers for the next two months just to have a handful!

Though what a pleasant task it is!

What a beautiful, simple, spontaneous celebration! Love all the pictures and bubbles. Congratulations!

Love the juxtaposition of the two wedding pictures!

  3. They could have at least cooked the rice to make it less painful.

Lovely! Do you have bougainvillea? The petals are beautiful, they keep most of their color and don’t shrink

The climbing rose here had hundreds of blossoms in April and now they have fallen to the ground. Is there a climbing rose in your courtyard? Perhaps you could put out a sheet and shake that rose vine?!

    The bubbles were delightful…
    Dried flowers will be too…
Although, what will everyone else throw? 🙂

  7. I love the idea of dried flowers bu having a hard time imagining how they could be thrown due to their lightness. My mental imagine is not a good one–I’m sticking to the lovely bubbles. Makes me want to go buy meself a bottle of bubbles and after I’ve blown my fill, I’ll share with my grandson. LOL

    Love these two photos.

  9. If you dry flowers with a strong colour, are they likely to stain “the” dress? especially should the weather be damp?
