French Antique Field Trip

Antique buying Trip in France, Corey Amaro

When my friends from Wyoming said they wanted to come to Provence and see it through the eyes of creative exploration and antiques I knew we were going to have a good time.

Kim and Molly stayed a week, Yann drove (Superhero) as I tend to fall asleep at the wheel which makes for a stressful adventure.

Every day we left around 9 in the morning and would return in time for dinner.

Long full day glorious days even during the weekend when it was raining and cold.

We got along like peas in a pod.

We stopped in a different village every day: Lauris, Avignon, Cotignac, Lourmarin, Aix, Isle sur la Sorgue, Marseille, Villeneuve, Venelles… and antiqued our way through each of them.

I bought over a 100 antique glass votives that came from the local church from my friends Jean and Nathalie in Lourmarin. I am going to put them on the dinner tables at the wedding.

I love that this dealer is called:

Mr. Papillon

Which is "Mr. Butterfly".

The mirror, the settee, the tiles…and last picture is great!

  2. Corey, if you need to get old wax out of those votives, put them in the freezer overnight. Wax should pop right out.
    Love your stuff!

In November, I am going on a cruise and we will be in Marseille for one day, a Saturday. Will there be a brocante for me to drag my travelling companions to? How do I find out?
